Our little team is expanding... and hell no! He's not a baby! ;)

Wow it looks like our previous post was a year ago! ;)

We hope you had a nice Christmas and enjoyed New Year's party and of course we'd like to wish you all the best in this exciting 2014!

I bet a lot of you wondered what is going on with us and if we're moving forward to achieve our goals. Well, we've got some great news!

It happened before Christmas. We were talking with our friend Bartek about our plans and ... it appeared that he'd like to go with us! What a cool Christmas gift! :) As you could imagine our conversation lasted for hours and we agreed to share tasks which at this point are related mostly with researching. It's always good to have more people involved in projects like this - there will be even more motivation and will power! :) We are all so excited about that!

We tried to come up with some provisional date of our trip and we decided for August-September. There are few reasons for that:

  1. dry season with a lot of sunshine and minimal chances for rain
  2. it fits our holiday's plan anyway :)
Another things which we checked were:

  1. what are entry requirements in Tanzania and Kenya  - passports, visas, etcWe need to have valid passports for minimum 6 months and will need to buy visa(s) on the border.
  2. what vaccinations are required and recommended Well, that subject is very vast... Minimum required by law is yellow fiver vaccination but there are several other which are highly recommended such as Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Typhoid and Tetanus vaccinations.
  3. what travel insurance we'll need another not easy subject... obviously there is no question if to have insurance - this is mandatory! but to buy good insurance...oh man! it could be a nightmare! What we'll really need is some outdoor travel insurance which will cover things like trip cancellation, trip delay, high altitude trekking, medical costs, repatriation costs, lost (stolen?!) baggage, etc.
As you could see there is already plenty of information and that is just a tip of the iceberg! but no worries - what doesn't kill us makes us stronger! :) we'll sort out all of that - little by little... :)

That's it for now...
Stay tuned! (yeah, I like this phrase! ;))

Kilimanjaro here we come!

Hello and welcome on our blog! :)

Many times in our lives we come up with some idea or a concept and then do nothing about it. Very often with the same attitude we treat our dreams/goals. We think that they are too big, too expensive or too complicated and because of that - unreachable. If you however stand for a minute and actually think how to achieve your goals, how to divide it into smaller tasks, then everything appears to be less terrifying and more reachable.

A few days ago we started to talk about what we would like to do next summer (holiday). Because this next summer will be probably our last summer without kids (yeah...when you're almost 30 you should (should I?!!!!), probably, start thinking about those things) we thought that do something really challenging will be right for us. Luckily, Teresa has recently read something on the Internet which directed her thoughts towards Africa. So because of it and that I'd always wanted to climb Kilimanjaro we decided to give it a go!

This is a big project - it will require a lot of resources and we'll have to face many problems but we know that sharing our goal with friends and other people will give us motivation and power to fight all those obstacles. Always when you make a public statement you are more determinate to keep your promise ;)

On the end of this introduction we'd like to, again, give you all a warm welcome and invite you to experience this everything with us!

Stay tuned!
